Major announcement!
Winter season is just around the corner! We hope our Jetstars have had a wonderful and restful break in preparation for the first game on April 27!
Whilst you guys have hopefully been chillin’, the Northcote Jets have been working feverishly to develop a solution to the current lack of training facilities in our local community. We have a HUGE announcement! We can confirm the Northcote Jets have been granted $175,000 of Federal funding from the Labor Party for the purpose of building our very own basketball training court. We’re incredibly grateful to Cooper MP Ged Kearney for making this happen! In partnership with the Furlan Club in Thornbury, we will convert a bocce court to a full-sized basketball court. This initiative will also benefit the wider community in allowing access to the court so they too can strengthen and grow their sporting clubs. A media conference was held on Tuesday April 16 with Tanya Plibersek (Deputy Opposition Leader ALP) and Ged Kearney (Federal MP for Cooper). Funding is subject to the Labor Party winning the Federal Election. Dario Bulfone has been instrumental in bringing this to life. We are super blessed to have such a determined, tenacious and selfless man representing the Jets. We’ll keep you posted with further updates. Exciting times ahead for our club! Goooooooo Jets 👊🏻 Mel Pinto – President of the Northcote Jets Basketball Club |
